Kita receives pre-seed investment from Carbon13

We are delighted to announce that Kita has received pre-seed investment from Carbon13, the prestigious venture builder for the climate emergency. This is a huge vote of confidence, demonstrating that experts in the climate tech field believe in our team and our vision. This investment will allow us to accelerate that vision to create real climate impact.

It has been an exciting path to get here. Our founders, Natalia, Tom and Paul all left successful careers (in the legal and finance fields, respectively) to devote themselves to making a difference in the fight against climate change, leading them to join Carbon13.

Paul and Tom joined as an existing team, having met two years previously at Nasdaq and bonding after realising their shared passion around environmental causes (not to mention data science, geospatial imagery, and peatland depth analysis...).

Natalia joined independently, after having worked with many large corporates and insurers while leading the Climate Risk practice strategy at Clyde & Co LLP, where she was Head of Business Development - Services.

Once the team started speaking, their complementary skills and shared values became immediately evident. Natalia explained to Paul and Tom the huge role insurance needs to play in the fight against climate change, thus shifting their focus from fintech to insurtech.

The result is...Kita!

This investment is a huge milestone, but by no means the last.

So what’s next? Proof of concepts. Partnerships. Building insurance products (that people want!). More investment. Regulatory approvals. Hiring. Launch. MAKING A REAL CLIMATE IMPACT.
