One year in and we have some celebrating to do!
Happy Birthday to us! Officially 1 year old today. And what a year it has been…

5 December 2021: Incorporation day!
January 2022: investment from Carbon13
April 2022: started Lloyd’s Lab cohort 8
May 2022: pre-seed investment, led by Insurtech Gateway
June 2022: hired our summer interns, Aland, Eilis and Melanie
July 2022: graduated from Lloyd’s Lab; became founding member of the Carbon Business Council
August 2022: received FCA approval as an appointed representative; named as one of Business Insider's '37 most promising climate-tech start-ups of 2022'
September 2022: hosted a roundtable event alongside Lloyd’s and CO2RE Hub; announced partnership with Puro.earth
October 2022: we got a bit of PR…here, here, here; we reinforced our singular message
November 2022: we received grants from ESA BIC and Innovate UK (yay!); Melanie Martin joined us full time as Head of Legal (double yay!!); we outlined more details on our Carbon Purchase Protection Cover; Tech Nation included a case study of Kita in its 2022 Climate Tech Report; we were featured in The Insurer here; Kita’s CEO Natalia Dorfman was named one of the “Top 100 to Watch” by the Telegraph and Natwest
5 December 2022: cake and bubbles; getting ready to launch our 1st product, Carbon Purchase Protection Cover, to insure forward purchased carbon removal credits against under-delivery and enable more upfront financing for high quality carbon removal to fight the climate crisis
There has been a LOT more behind the scenes on capacity, hiring, regulation, funding, partnerships, tech and of course product, product, product/carbon, carbon, carbon.
